Starmobile Engage 10 Pro Unboxing and Initial Impression

Today we have the Starmobile Engage 10 Pro the newest Laptop and Tablet in one by Starmobile. When it arrived the first thing I appreciated is the Packaging, definitely this is one of the boxes that you will keep for collection the minimalist look with the Neon Light Green and white combination accent makes it standout comparing to the Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph packaging that I have also unboxed and reviewed before.

The design is a Triangular pixel design with a Starmobile Logo and Engage branding in front and all the details are at the back with the image of the Engage 10 Pro.

Inside the box includes the AC/DC Charging Adapter, Docking Keyboard OTG Cable, Micro USB to USB Cable, Warranty Card, Additional Screen Protector and the Colored User Manual.

First Stop is the Keyboard dock which is in grey glittery smooth finish premium plastic material with a aluminum dock lock for the tablet. Keyboard comes with a QWERTY type keys with function keys and some quick shortcut capabilities. what’s great about the keyboard it has a Caps Lock and Num Lock LED Indicator. The keys are very tactile and clicky even the trackpad although it may take some time to get used to since the keyboard is a compact size.

But nonetheless it has rubber tips in front to lessen the scratches on the tablet screen when being closed. Plus 4 rubber tips at the bottom for a less movement when using on a flat surface.

The only problem for the keyboard dock is the switch on the lock. It doesn’t have enough room space to push the switch so if you’re in hurry and you want to unplug the tablet to the keyboard it may not be possible comparing to the Asus Transformer T200TA that has a large space and easy push button to undock.

But the lock is very secured so you really don’t have to worry if it will fall in when you plug the tablet.

Additional added value for the keyboard is the USB 2.0 which is out of the box my 1TB capacity external drive is detected which is a big win!

And take note I typed this post using the Engage 10 Pro so I can say the first experience for the keyboard is really smooth the tactile keys are very helpful for me to know if I am pressing the keys.

Now let’s take a look at tablet in front is the 2-megapixel camera and the Windows logo. the screen is a 10.1-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280×800. it has enough bezel space for the palm to reside when on a tablet mode.

at the top is the volume rocker and the two speaker grill. looking on the left side has all the major ports starting with the Power button, LED light indicator for charging, 3.5mm jack, mini HDMI port, Micro SD slot, USB OTG port, USB 2.0 port, AC/DC port and the Pinhole Mic.

Moving into the back is the 5-megapixel rear camera with the Engage 10 Pro and Starmobile Logo at the center.

on the right side of the tablet there’s actually a hidden slot but in the case of the Engage 10 Pro it seems they removed this feature which I think is a SIM card functionality that I think not very useful for a tablet PC.

Upon booting up the device its the typical Windows Interface running on Windows 8.1 with Bing build 9600.

Although the capacity is 32GB but the remaining storage is only 24GB which is not bad. The OS allocated 8GB of internal storage.

Well that’s it for now ill be playing around with this device for a while so if you have something in mind that you want to see on the Starmobile Engage 10 Pro just leave in the comment section and let me know what do you think about the Engage 10 Pro. so stay tuned on my full review.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
