Here is the Camera Comparison of the Cherry Mobile XL and Kata i3, let me just give you the rundown of the camera specs of both Smartphones (Rear Camera)

    ModelCherry Mobile Omega XLKata Digital — Kata i3 F-Stop F2.2 F2.8ISO 100–1600 100–1600 Focal Length 3.5mm 3.5mm Digital Zoom RatioUpto x4 Upto x4

Cherry Mobile Omega XL v.s Kata Digital — Kata i3 First shot are both taken on an Auto settings

Both smaprtphone have 13mp camera at the back but for the Cherry Mobile Omega XL the only limitation in terms of Picture size and Preview size is that when you set it to Fullscreen Preview size the only choices for the Picture size is upto 6mp but for the Kata i3 even you change the Preview Size either fullscreen or standard (4:3) the 13mp is still retain.

So for this shots I base the settings on the Preview Size so for the Kata i3 and Omega XL both are set to Fullscreen — Preview size and the Picture size is 13mp for the Kata i3 and 6mp for the Omega XL.

Shots Taken around 5pm in the afternoon

    Night Shot Comparison
In this test one big advantage of the Cherry Mobile Omega XL is the Led light, take note that I used the Led Light rather than the Flash because it seems to me a much better way of taking pictures rather than the regular flash of the Cherry Mobile Omega XL, for the Kata i3 seens I mention on my video here that the flash is not quite sync with the photo it takes shots before it focus on the subject, so in my case I need to manually press the shutter button once it focus on the subject or else I will not the a focused subject if I will just wait for it to take a snapshop using just the default flash.

Shot on this Photo’s is taken around 7pm with minimal light source, tested out from the ISO ,auto , 100–1600 and here are the results, kindly take note also some of the images of the Kata i3 might me blurred because I can’t barely see my subject on the screen and like what I said its having a hard time focusing on the subject because it’s a bit zoomed in the subject comparing to the Omega XL which has a wider range when taking photos.

Kata i3 [LEFT] and Omega XL [RIGHT] in order ISO Auto, 100, 1600 w/ and w/o Flash Comparison

    Verdict

Both phones has their strength and weakness, but for this test I choose the Cherry Mobile Omega XL as the winner, just a quick note actually when you are viewing the photo’s on the screen of the Smartphone Kata i3 really stands out it makes the images vivid and vibrant, but unfortunately once you view it outside the phone you will see the real results at first I was really surprise of the color of the Kata i3 and that is because truly the screen is really bright and you will see how it emboss the color on the screen but for the Cherry Mobile Omega XL what you see on the screen is really what you get even outside the phone.

Well but since the Kata i3 is a f2.8 you will see it has more deep depth of field but you will notice the green is quite shallow also and faded not like the Omega XL you will see how vibrant the Color of the Greens although the reds of the Kata i3 are more saturated comparing to the Omega XL.

Well the big advantage of the Omega XL is the Night shot I find more easier to shoot and easier to focus , thanks to the LED Light feature of the phone it really helps shooting at night easy as ever and even its 1600 ISO you will notice how bright it can give on a dark environment like on my shots.

Low Light I will got for Omega XL but for the Macro shot I find the Kata i3 much better because of the depth of field but for the color sampling again I will go for Cherry Mobile Omega XL even though I also find the Kata i3 much more sharper comparing to Omega XL , but it is case to case basis and it will depend on your need but for this test I really choose Omega XL because it can do both ways , the Low light issue of Kata i3 is a huge lost 🙁 and the flash issue I mentioned.

So stay tuned also on my Front Camera test of both Smartphone I will separate because I find this post quite long already so be sure to subscribe on my RSS. so will get notified via Email 🙂
