Last night after the ASUS ZenPad launching, I received an email from YouTube saying that one of my videos was removed. Sad to say it’s one of my top viewed videos and it’s the “How to Root/Unroot any Mediatek (MTK) Phones or any Devices Easiest way no need to use a PC”. the email saying the video as “inappropriate” which is totally weird since the video is already almost 2 years old now and as a YouTuber we all know the guidelines and yes we follow them all throughout this years.
So YouTube tell us are you drunk last night? and just clicked that removed button from random people? and upon further investigation it seems not only me got the surprise email yesterday but also some of my fellow tech bloggers thetechnoclast and pinoytechstyle.
thetechnoclast also created a blog post regarding this issue.
We all have the same email and same flagged content all about rooting videos, but this just made us think is YouTube now flagging all Rooting videos as inappropriate? Wait let me check Youtube now and Search for “How to root smartphone”
Oh! look 128,000 search results and look at all those title all are rooting tutorial content and even one of them is 4 years old but still alive and kicking.
Well After receiving this email I also emailed them at email@example.com but still waiting for their response for sure this is a misinterpreted content and its ok for me for them to take down videos that “I KNOW” for myself that it’s inappropriate and misleading but come on! 2 years old video? what is the purpose of “your video is being reviewed” when we upload our contents then suddenly after approving it you will just mark it as inappropriate, Will still wait for the response via email and will keep you posted regarding this issue.
if you’re curious which video is taken down here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2SlL7K16bk
