Playground.ph Campers 1.0 Bluetooth Outdoor Speaker
Playground recently announced their new lineup of products including a new outdoor Bluetooth speaker that looks like a truck tire. Rugged and premium the new “Campers 1.0” is one of the solid portable speakers you can have right now. For just a price of Php1,390 this device can be compared to those high-end portable speakers.
Unique Packaging
Packaging is not a typical plastic cover, it has a unique tire design box. Included in the package is the following, Quick user guide, Warranty Card, USB to Micro USB cable, Leather Strap and the Campers 1.0 speaker itself. It’s also available in different colors like, Yellow, Black, Silver and Red which what we have.
Not your ordinary Bluetooth speaker
Campers 1.0 has a dimension of 90mm x 43mm x 45mm using the Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR with a transmitting distance up to 10m. it can be charge via Micro USB using a power bank or on any devices like laptop or desktop.
Battery Capacity is 700mAh with a working time of about 6hrs on a continuous usage but for an average usage it can last a day or two depends on your usage. Actually at first I forgot to turn it off and upon checking it back after a couple of days surprisingly it still has a battery juice which I can say it has a great standby time.
Solid Build Quality
Playground is known for delivering a premium quality products with an affordable price like what we recently reviewed BH200 and CAM 200. The Campers 1.0 has an alloy frame surrounding the tire design.
There’s also a hidden + and — sign on the side of the rubber tire for the volume adjustments plus a hole for the microphone but do take note that this is not a waterproof device but only a water resistant. If you will bring this on a hiking behind your backpack it will still survive on a different weather because of its design-build.
The speaker grills are also metal so expect the sound to have a solid bass even just having a portable size.
At the back is the On and OFF switch for the Bluetooth, and the great thing once you open the device it automatically look for a device to pair. Once you open the Bluetooth of your smartphone or other devices it will automatically pair with it. The device also has a Handsfree feature so you won’t missed a call.
It also includes a TF Card slot (Micro SD) and the Micro-USB port for charging. Basically, you can insert any audio book or even music to your memory card and play it to the speaker directly in case you don’t want to pair it on your smartphone. It will vibrate once it’s powered on and you will see a white LED indicator.
Charging this device is just less than an hour, overall the build and sound quality is superb for its price point usually with this kind of portable devices it ranges from Php3,000–5,000 but for the Campers 1.0 it just 1/4 of that price range. if in case you will purchase this device I recommend testing it out and see for yourself what this device can do.
