Here’s another SKK Unboxing and Initial Impression and this time we are taking a look at the SKK Phoenix X1 one of the affordable Octa Core smartphone available in the market right now.

    Packaging

X1 packing is similar with the recent SKK Illusion that I have reviewed, but the X1 has a larger box. Inside, it comes with a Micro-USB to USB cable for data transfer and charging, Travel charger that has 1,000mA, User manual , Warranty card, 2500 mAh Battery, headphone with mic button and the SKK Phoenix X1 itself.

    Build and Design

X1 reminds me of the Arc Mobile Memo since it has this Samsung design build. In front located at center top is the earpiece with a silver color then the 5-megapixel camera at the upper left near the corner plus the proximity and light sensor beside it. The bezels a slightly thin but not as thin as the SKK Illusion. this is a 5-inch IPS Display with 1280×720 resolution. it does not come with a screen protector so be sure to buy one just in case.

While at the bottom is the 3 capacitive button the Menu,Home and Back buttons.

Right side has the Power Button while on the left side is the volume rocker, texture is also silver metallic color but quite soft when pressing and doesn’t have the tactile sound.

Moving to the top it has the Micro USB socket and the 3.5mm Jack for the earphone or headphones. noticeable is the bulge curve design surrounding the body which is for me it doesn’t feel premium.

But at the back the design resembles with the Samsung S5 it has a leather type design but take note it’s still a plastic with just a material design. Center top located is the 13-megapixel Rear Camera, Single LED Flash below and the SKK Mobile Logo in the center plus the noise cancellation. Speaker grill with two strips is located at the lower right corner.

Bottom part is just the Pinhole mic.

    Initial Impression

The weight is surprisingly light comparing to the SKK Illusion has good build, except that silver lining color which I find it no so premium feel. It’s powered by a MediaTek MT6592 1.7Ghz Octa-core Processor with a Mali-450 MP. it has 1GB of RAM and an 8GB of ROM battery is huge with 2,500mAh which we hope can give a great battery life.

User Interface is again a custom build but not as customize as the SKK Illusion so far the Icons are not the default vanilla android. Camera has slightly slow shutter because of the transition but the output is so far OK base on the Good lighted environment.

Initial Antutu test gave a result of 24,461 it will still vary on my full review so be sure to stay tuned on that one, last but not the least in terms of gaming so far it did run the NBA 2k14 without any issues and good news it can be played even the OBB files is in the SD Card. BONUS! it’s a OTG capable .

That wraps up my initial impression will be playing with the X1 for a couple of days and will give a detailed review soon if you have any questions or feedbacks feel free to share in the comment section.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
