Is Starmobile Octa Overpriced PHP16,990? Comparing to International Market?

Starmobile unveiled another Octa Core on their line up of Smartphones, but end users sent out negative bash regarding the pricing of the Starmobile Octa, the Starmobile’s Octa SRP is PHP16,990. whoooohhh 17,000 for a Smartphone “NO WAY!” this are just simple reaction that end users are saying yes it’s quite huge amount of money for an Octa-Core, yes you can buy other smartphone with that amount of cash but then it’s still depends on user perspective if you like the phone buy it, if not then ignore it as simple as that but of course before we bash a product we must compare it with something else like compare it with it’s OEM I myself is one of those first people to read aw! Overpriced,.

But let’s first take a Google Search and look for the OEM of the Starmobile Octa, base on research we found out that it’s similar with the Thailand’s version named i-mobile IQ X Octo 1069 it has almost the same specs as the Starmobile Octa but we are looking at the price difference and for the Thailand’s price it cost 12,500 Baht so that is equivalent to $388.62 and if you convert that into Philippine peso it will Cost PHP17,441. But here you will see in the Unboxing Video of the i-mobile IQ X Octo 1069 they all have the accessories like screen protector , Crystal Clear Case and the Wireless charging.

Checking out the box of the Starmobile Octa apart from the wireless charger, casing and screen protector (to confirm) they have added a cable that is USB to HDMI so you can use it to link to your LCD which added to the accessories

UPDATE: Starmobile Confirmed that they did not include Transparent Casing and Screen Protector that’s why they manage to have that price point comparing to i-mobile IQ X Octo

but as you can see the price difference of Starmobile Octa PHP16,990 and i-mobile IQ X Octo 1069 PHP17,441. the Octa of Starmobile is still more affordable, I also tried another site that compares the Intex Aqua i7 vs i-mobile IQ X Octo 1069 and they both have the same price of $415 and that is equivalent to PHP18625, this one doubled the price of the Smartphone from 17k it became 18k.

The Verdict is Starmobile Octa is still on the right Price point in terms of comparing to the International Price Market.

But Hopefully for my personal opinion they already upgraded it to LTE version and made the battery higher like 2,500mAh — 3,000mAh although the 2,300mAh is still managable and the storage have SD Card and is it upgradable to Android KitKat?:)

So there you go guys base on research Starmobile Octa is still Affordable comparing to international market and comparing it to it’s OEM. you can see the price difference and Congrats to Starmobile for managing to pull this kind of amount even though for some it is still pricey.
