Facebook soon to let you add “Shop Section” on your fanpages
A post from Mari Smith confirms an upcoming feature that will online sellers will love. Facebook will soon let Facebook fan pages to add Shop Section on their pages where they put different products like,
“ PHYSICAL products. Categories include: Sports & Recreation, Clothing, Shoes, Luggage/Bags, Personal Care, Jewelry, and Watches. Plus an ‘Other physical goods’ category.”
But as of now it’s only available in the US and only accepts payment thru a 3rd party gateway called Stripe. Facebook previous made this possible using an App Tab in the past year but that didn’t much attraction and suddenly taken down support. This time, it seems Facebook will push a better e-commerce platform for all users, and not only for groups but now for fan pages. This is an exciting feature that hopefully to roll out soon in different countries like the Philippines since we all know the e-commerce penetration in the Philippines is growing faster than the previous years.
