How to upgrade to Windows 10 for FREE!
Yesterday is the global announcement of the Windows 10 that will be available for everyone to download and upgrade. But some of the users still don’t have that notification and even the update confirmations. In this tutorial I will show you how to force download the Windows 10 on your current system even if it’s windows 7 , 8 or 8.1.
First you will have this notification on your taskbar that you can get the Windows 10 now and even reserve for the official release. if you have that feel free to signup to reserve your slot in case this next method did not work.
Go to the control panel by pressing WIN Key + X or right click on the start button and click control panel or just press windows key again then type in the search bar control panel, either the three will work.
Then click the Windows Update > Change settings and be sure to set “Install updates automatically (recommended)” and check the recommended updates and Microsoft Update.
Now open Windows explorer and go to “C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download” and you will see there are some files there , be sure to delete all of them.
open the command prompt by pressing windows key again and type in the search bar CMD and right click on the icon and choose Run as Administrator.
In the command prompt type this “wuauclt.exe /updatenow”.
Once you check in the Windows Update window you will see it’s already downloading the Windows 10 upgrade. Be sure to backup all your files and also have a stable connection because it will take a while for you to download since the files is around 3GB and that’s how easy it is to force download the Windows 10 update.
this method will work on any device even on convertible tablets and laptops running with the compatible software for upgrade. Let me know in the comment section down below if have upgraded your build to Windows 10 🙂
